Dr Jessica Yeo was raised in Singapore where she is fluent in English and Mandarin Chinese. She later moved to Brisbane with her family during her high school years and qualified with a Bachelor of Dental Science at Griffith University in Queensland. Dr Yeo has practiced as a general dentist in both public dental hospitals in regional Queensland areas of Maryborough and Hervey Bay and also in private practice in metropolitan Brisbane. She was appointed clinical supervisor for dental students at Griffith University.
Inspired by her personal experience of undergoing orthodontic treatment and orthognathic jaw surgery, Dr Yeo decided to pursue her dream of being a specialist orthodontist.
"Having been the patient myself, I understand how important it is to be in the care of a highly-skilled specialist I could trust.
I wanted to build my dream practice where I could provide evidence-based orthodontic treatment with a gentle approach, while having long-lasting relationships with my patients, their families and the community."
Dr Jessica Yeo completed her orthodontic specialist training at the prestigious University of Sydney. Her extensive training in a hospital-based program at the Sydney Dental Hospital provided her with extensive experience in treating complex orthodontic cases.
Dr Yeo has practiced in orthodontic practices across New South Wales before establishing her own private practice. Her orthodontic philosophy is based on the latest scientific evidence and modern orthodontic technologies.
Dr Yeo's clinical research in early treatment of adolescents with deficient upper jaw using a novel technique of applying skeletal anchorage devices and intraoral elastics. This research was awarded the Australian Society of Orthodontics Elsdon Storey Research Award for the most meritorious research paper in Australia, and she has presented on this topic at national orthodontic conferences.
