It depends on your treatment and what is required. For modest corrections, orthodontic treatment can take as little as 6-months. For more complex issues, treatment can last for anywhere between 18 to 24 months. At your initial consultation with Dr. Jessica Yeo, you’ll receive a personalised treatment roadmap that outlines costs, timeframes, and expected outcomes.
Are braces covered by Medicare in Australia?
No, orthodontic treatment – including braces – are not covered by Medicare in Australia. There are some very limited extenuating circumstances whereby underlying conditions may entitle patients to a rebate from Medicare, however, this is very rare. You may be covered by private health insurance for your initial consultation and also for orthodontic treatment - depending on your level of coverage. During your initial consultation, we can provide you with the information you need to check with your insurer to find out about your entitlements.
